SUNBURY – Northumberland County has a budget surplus. That was the word Tuesday from county commissioner chairman Vinny Clausi. He said the audit from 2014 showed a general fund surplus of nearly $500,000. Clausi says the surplus is due in large part to the reduction in county employees during his tenure, “When I come in the office in 2008, we are 843 employees. Today we are down to 503.
